Dark Souls PC petition lists over 54,000 signatures and counting

I have yet to play Dark Souls, but I’ll be damned if its predecessor Demon’s Souls didn’t make me feel like trash for dying countless times. It was all worth it for the absolute satisfaction you receive after trotting through

New Devil Survivor 2 trailer reminds us Devil Survivor 2 exists

The original Devil Survivor is notable because it is the game I own the most copies of (three), and because it was a sparklingly brilliant strategy RPG for the Nintendo DS. A combination of Japanese RPG series Growlanser with Persona

Top tier game journalists join forces with Vox Media

Up until now, it had been unfortunate to see such big names in game journalism like Russ Pitts and Justin McElroy resigning from their posts on the likes of the Escapist and Joystiq. Those joining them included other veterans from Joystiq like Chris Grant along with Brian Crecente, former EIC at Kotaku. It had seemed that game journalism had lost many of its best, but now we know what they’re all up to.

These venerable game journalists will be banding together to form the team behind a new gaming site headed by Vox Media (which I envision as some kind of giant robot). Vox currently maintains tech website The Verge and a sports portal SB Nation, but will be expanding its horizons into the realm of gaming. Currently we don’t know much about this new website, but as McElroy puts it,

“I, and a big team of talented folks, are going to be building the best video game site ever.”

Russ Pitts gives further credit on his blog and somewhat of a timeframe for the site itself,

“It’s going to be some time before we can actually get to work writing and whatnot, and even more time before we have an actual website to call our own. Vox is giving us a year to design and build exactly the site we want and to get it up and running…

Ocean Marketing throws juvenile PR tantrum

There is good PR, there is bad PR, then there is this. Ocean Marketing, a producer of several third party peripherals, have managed to make a fool of themselves in what may be one of the most childish and juvenile PR stunts ever. What happened is a customer known as Dave pre-ordered a couple PS3 controllers to come by December 17, but his order never made it in time. He sent a complaint to Ocean Marketing about it via email, but public relations worker Paul Christoforo only gave him trouble. He basically told him to wait and deal with it like a “big boy”. Later he said that the controllers weren’t guaranteed to come by Christmas anyways despite the fact that Dave paid for them to come by then. At this point Dave is extremely frustrated and threatens to publicize the unprofessional emails Christforo made. Christforo then replies with unrivaled professionalism and maturity.
