Top tier game journalists join forces with Vox Media
Up until now, it had been unfortunate to see such big names in game journalism like Russ Pitts and Justin McElroy resigning from their posts on the likes of the Escapist and Joystiq. Those joining them included other veterans from Joystiq like Chris Grant along with Brian Crecente, former EIC at Kotaku. It had seemed that game journalism had lost many of its best, but now we know what they’re all up to.
These venerable game journalists will be banding together to form the team behind a new gaming site headed by Vox Media (which I envision as some kind of giant robot). Vox currently maintains tech website The Verge and a sports portal SB Nation, but will be expanding its horizons into the realm of gaming. Currently we don’t know much about this new website, but as McElroy puts it,
“I, and a big team of talented folks, are going to be building the best video game site ever.”
Russ Pitts gives further credit on his blog and somewhat of a timeframe for the site itself,
“It’s going to be some time before we can actually get to work writing and whatnot, and even more time before we have an actual website to call our own. Vox is giving us a year to design and build exactly the site we want and to get it up and running…

Kingdom Hearts 3D confirmed for U.S. release, keeping awful title
Dream Drop Distance? Really? The next spinoff for the Kingdom Hearts series will be arriving on our shores for 3DS in 2012. Although this isn’t as surprising as the localization of Xenoblade, it’s good news for less jaded Kingdom Hearts

Nothing makes a fighting game like a colorful cast of unique characters. Whether you cite scientist-turned-goo-monster Arakune from Blazblue or creepy-crab-walking-dance-fighter Voldo from Soul Calibur, sheer unmitigated weird is key to a fun fighting game. Developer Ronimo Games seems to
