Kinect for Windows coming February 1st
It was inevitable. Microsoft will be releasing a new version of the Kinect made especially for Windows. Considering the blistering amount of video demos we’ve seen including Kinect controls for Skyrim and turning invisible, it’s surprising that this announcement didn’t come sooner. Microsoft is even extending the support of the SDK development kit into 2016, hoping that the transition to the Windows exclusive Kinect will be a smooth one for its consumers. Not much else is known about this new Kinect, but I can’t help wondering if this will mean anyone who plans to take advantage of the device will need to make their computer rooms about eight times more spacious. I don’t understand, didn’t we already have webcams that did pretty much the same thing for years?
