A new Deus Ex is possible, says Eidos
Surprised? I hope not. It’s not as if we’re continually inundated with sequels and franchises in this industry or anything. In an interview with Eurogamer, the production coordinator for Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Marce-Andre Dufort, revealed his thoughts on a possible Deus Ex sequel. “I would like to, but I don’t know what the future is right now. I know that Wada-san [Yoichi Wada, Square Enix president] said he had a plan for the future, but right now we’re celebrating the success of the game, since it’s the first game of the studio. I don’t know if you’ve seen the credits of the main game, but there were a lot of production babies, so I think people want to spend some time with their families and take some time off. That’s pretty much where we are right now.” Wada’s plan for the future very well could be more DLC–Dufort is bullish on giving any details on that front, which just makes DLC seem more likely, no? Either way, it’s probably safe to assume that it would be silly for Eidos not to take advantage of Human Revolution’s success by…giving us more Deus Ex. Via Eurogamer |
I really hope there’s more DX. Still haven’t finished Human Revolution, but it’s a nice change of pace from many current AAA games.

Eventually they’ll run out of timeline, though. There’s 25 years between Human Revolution and Deus Ex, and the series has always specialized in big jumps rather than year-by-year progression. My bet: they’ll break down and remake Deus Ex, drastically improving the combat mechanics but cutting out the emergent gameplay that made it so distinctive.
A new Deus Ex followup of this game is the right way forward, in my humble opinion, the game leaves a few avenues open (without spoiling the end; i already finished it, and im going on my second play). I think Hardcore Fans will enjoy more DLC’s and a definite followup would be nice, who knows what Adam Jensen could be up to in a few years on from the current game#s timeline. 😉 a big thank you to Eidos Montreal! Great Game, and true to the DeusEx Spirit.
