Crytek at the Helm of Homefront
Despite a troubled release and disappointing critical reception, THQ are convinced that Homefront is an IP worth building. The publisher today announced that Crysis developer Crytek will develop a sequel to the paranoid FPS, taking over from the now-defunct Kaos Studios. “Selecting Crytek to take Homefront forward underscores our strategy of working with the industry’s best talent. Homefront‘s unique setting and storyline captivated gamers the world over,” said THQ’s executive VP, Danny Bilson of the move. He added: “With Crytek’s industry-leading technology and legendary experience in the FPS genre, we’re supremely confident that the next Homefront will deliver that triple-A quality experience that players demand.” The title is slated for the 2014 fiscal year.
