How The Net Was Won

As many of you already know, earlier today visiting Nightmare Mode wasn’t a wholly enjoyable experience. Anyone who came to Nightmare Mode had the pleasure of being harassed by pop ups, redirects and general spammyness. First of all, we would like to apologize for this and let you know that this was not our doing and that we hold ourselves to a higher standard than that. Second of all, we are glad to announce that we are clean!

Earlier today we were attacked by a rogue site based out of Russia. The site added some malicious JavaScript, Edited some of our core PHP files and uploaded a few malicious files to our servers. I personally spent almost 3 hours removing the infections, and pouring through thousands upon thousands of lines of code looking for anything unusual or suspicious. But now that we are clean I dont expect that threat to be returning any time soon since I took some extra precautions this time.

Once again we apologize to our readers for this. We appreciate your patience, loyalty and understanding in this.

Take heed future attackers! Nightmare Mode is not a site to be trifled with!
