Dating sim Katawa Shoujo finally releases

The road has been long and hard for the dating sim Katawa Shoujo, for five years it has been in the making. The story began in December 2000 with a single piece of concept art for a doujin called Schuppen Harnische by the artist RAITA. The art was just a few sketches of high school girls with disabilities, nothing more. Eventually that art made it’s way to 4chan, most likely to fuel sexual desires, and a few people took interest in it. They decided to form Four Leaf Studios and transform that art into the very game we see today.

Katawa Shoujo, or Disability Girls, is an indie visual novel about Hisao, a guy who develops a lethal heart disease forced to transfer to a private school for disabled kids. In this school he meets several lovely ladies with the typical disabilities you expect. The legless track star Emi, burn victim Hanako, the armless lover Rin, and more. It’s your job to look past all of those jarring disabilities to accept and form a relationship with the individual on the inside because that is what matters.

If you want to meet these lovely ladies then download the game here! It’s free so you have no excuse, unless you hate disabled people.
