Bioware's new game is…something

If there’s one thing I love, it’s teasers for teasers. Kotaku gave us the incredibly short version of what is probably an incredibly short teaser trailer for Bioware’s next game this morning, and it looks…gunny.

Rock Paper Shotgun then did some rather hilarious detective work, and propose we’re up with either a new Shattered Steel game (due to the barcode being the atomic weight of iron in binary) or a new Mass Effect, because Vostok is the name of a system in Mass Effect.

You’re all caught up. Now speculation. It doesn’t *look* like Mass Effect 3, but it sure as hell could quack like it. I wouldn’t be surprised. I also wouldn’t be surprised if this was Bioware looking at Alpha Protocol and saying, “Fuckit, we can do so much better than that” and making a semi-futuristic spy/military game. Personally, I’m kind of mixed on the whole idea. On one hand, it’s Bioware, and they haven’t disappointed to any degree since Jade Empire. On the other, I have a hard time getting it up for military shooters. Even good ones. And Bioware haven’t show the ability to develop really satisfying killing shit mechanics since Baldur’s Gate: Shadows of Amn.

One thing’s for sure: we’ll find out more. One day. When we are older and less spry.
